Medicine,
fathomed.
Most medicine happens in the shallows. Fathom Medicine is built the other way — a direct primary care practice with a small panel, the time to reach the bedrock of who you are, and a doctor who stays with a case wherever it leads.
Fathom medicine: going deeper rather than wider.
Care that goes deeper
A small panel, extended visits, and a physician who has the bandwidth to actually understand what's going on — and the time to find a solution that works for you.
Unhurried Primary Care
Extended visits, same-day or next-day access, and direct communication by call or text. A physician who knows your story and has the time to actually think about your case.
In-Office Procedures
Orthopedic injections, dermatologic diagnosis and biopsy, and other hands-on procedures handled under one roof — by someone who already knows you. Less waiting, fewer referrals.
Care Across Settings
Your doctor stays with you when the setting changes. In the office, at home when getting in isn’t practical, and involved in your care coordination if you’re hospitalized or recovering in a nursing home.
Washington born. Washington trained.
Dr. Bechtold was born and raised in Spokane and trained at the University of Washington for medical school and residency. He has practiced internal medicine on the Kitsap Peninsula for nearly a decade, which is also where he and his family have made their home. On any given day they might be hiking, out on the beach, or catching a Mariners game — sometimes all three.
Dr. Bechtold spent nearly a decade practicing inside conventional primary care, watching it compress around him. Appointments shortened, waits grew, and reimbursement checkboxes increasingly crowded out the patient across the desk. Patients were leaving visits knowing less about their health than when they came in. He came to see that doing right by them required a different structure, and founded Fathom Medicine.
He set out to return primary care to its first principle — the doctor-patient relationship — with the time, continuity, and depth to actually know the people he treats. One doctor. One relationship. Built here, for the people who live here.
The details are the medicine.
One doctor who knows the details that make you unique. If that sounds like the kind of care you've been looking for, let's talk.
