Fathom Medicine is a direct primary care practice built on a simple premise: good medicine takes time. Time to learn who you are, time to think about your case, time to get the details right. Medicine measured in depth, not throughput.
The orientation of this practice: going deeper rather than wider.
A small panel, extended visits, and a physician who has the bandwidth to actually understand what's going on with you — and the time to find a solution that works for you.
Extended visits, same-day or next-day access, and direct communication by call or text. A physician who knows your story and has the time to actually think about your case.
Orthopedic injections, dermatologic diagnosis and biopsy, and other hands-on procedures handled under one roof — by someone who already knows you. Less waiting, fewer referrals.
Your doctor stays with you when the setting changes. In the office, at home when getting in isn’t practical, and involved in your care coordination if you’re hospitalized.
Dr. Bechtold was born in Spokane and completed both medical school and residency at the University of Washington in Seattle. He has practiced internal medicine on the Kitsap Peninsula for nearly a decade, which is also where he and his family have made their home. On any given day they might be hiking, out on the beach, or catching a Mariners game, sometimes all three.
His calling to medicine reflects the Japanese concept of "ikigai." It is the intersection of what he loves, what he is good at, what the world needs, and what he has built his life around. He is particularly interested in metabolic health and longevity science. He feels that these are real frontiers, full of genuine scientific debate and real uncertainty. He engages them rigorously, and brings that same orientation to every patient's situation.
He is a problem solver and a physician with real domain knowledge and genuine curiosity. He will pursue a hard problem and work with you to find the solution that best fits you.
Fathom Medicine is built here, for the people who live here.
Fathom exists to plumb the depths and get the details right. If that sounds like the kind of care you've been looking for, let's talk.
